Memorize and Reflect

When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. But the more they were called, the more they went away from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images. ([bible]Hosea 11:1-2[/bible])

Prayer Direction

Confess sins and acts of rebellion toward God that you have committed recently. Admit them and ask for God’s grace to forgive and heal you. Ask God to remind you of His amazing grace and love, even in your brokenness. Pray for a humble heart that is ready to repent and surrender to God’s leading.

“Live It!” Challenge

Idol Check - Take time to prayerfully and humbly look at your life. Where do you see idols of any kind? In Hosea we learn that idols take many shapes and forms: devotion and trust in people more than God; looking to other powers to deliver you and not looking to God; anything that takes first place in our heart and life over God. Boldly cast any idols out and down and ask God to take His rightful place in your heart and life.
