Memorize and Reflect
“‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” (Haggai 2:9)Prayer Direction
Ask the Holy Spirit to infuse you with the strength needed to follow God in the direction he is guiding you. Each morning, upon rising, repeat this request as there is a good chance you’re going to face some challenges throughout the day that may seem overwhelming. You will receive what is needed to get through as you depend on Him.“Live It!” Challenge
As Peter says in the first chapter of 2nd Peter; remind yourself of what you already know and are firmly grounded in. We all need daily doses of replenishing and reminding to keep us fresh for the work set before us. Pray and ask God what areas you most need reminding and refreshing in. Then let him pour his truths in once again, to invigorate and renew your daily battle effort. He never gets tired of us needing Him!Small Group Discussion
What kinds of "walls" have come up in your life?
How did you handle them and how did it turn out?
Share about a time when you ended up doing more than you believed you could, and God's role in that.
Read: 2 Peter 1:12-15. In what areas have you found you need the most reminding?
What is it about these areas that led to the need for being reminded?
How is rebuilding of the temple connected to prophecies of the coming Messiah?
Share some ways God has kept his promises to you.
In what ways has God's deep and abiding love for you helped you overcome something?
God deserves our very best honor, respect, and faithfulness. Where do you see yourself in these three areas?
When you think of a hard heart, what does that mean and have you ever experienced it? If you've had a hard heart, describe it and share what happened next.
