Memorize and Reflect
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. (Psalm 23:1)Prayer Direction
Pray without ceasing throughout the day (1 Thessalonians 5:17) that God will engage with you reminding you of His presence. In other words, practice the presence of God.“Live It!” Challenge
Begin each morning reciting Psalm 23 asking God to remind you of His presence throughout the day. And then recite out loud the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) asking God to give you the plan for the day!Small Group Discussion
Read: Psalm 139 What does this Psalm teach you about yourself? What does it teach you about God?
Read: Matthew 28:16-20 Why do you think Jesus finished the Great Commission (this passage) with “And surely I am with you always”? Why was it so important that they would know that Jesus would be with them each step of the way?
When you think about the words of Jesus, “I am the Good Shepherd” (John 10), what comes to your mind and how does this make you feel?
What are some of the fears you have faced in your life (and even face right now)?
What do you do for personal devotions (regular Bible study, prayer, and personal spiritual growth)?
What does it mean to “meditate” on the words of the Bible? What are ways you do this, and what are fresh new ways you could meditate on the words of the Scriptures?
How might your devotional time and life be impacted if you meditated on the words of the Bible each day?
If you were to memorize the words of Psalm 23 and then meditate on this heavenly message regularly in the days ahead, how might this impact your life? What truths and themes would fill your heart and mind if you did this?
