Memorize and Reflect
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)Prayer Direction
Thank Jesus that he rose from the dead and He is still present with you every moment of every day! Pray for spiritual eyes to recognize where the living Jesus is alive in the world and your life right now. Pray for three people who need to experience the love of Jesus this Easter season and ask the Holy Spirit to give you strength to love them in the power of Jesus.“Live It!” Challenge
Who Is My One?: We all have one person (sometimes more) who we deeply long to see enter a life-saving relationship with Jesus. Take time to pray for this person every day this Easter season. Pray that they will open their heart to Jesus. Pray also that they will be willing to attend an Easter season worship service and hear the story of the resurrection. Pray for courage to invite them to one of our online Easter services.Small Group Discussion
The word “Because” usually points to something. Finish one of these statements:
• Because I am a Christian…
• Because I have freedom…
• Because I am your friend…
• Because Jesus is alive…How would the world be different if Jesus were not alive and risen from the dead? How would your life be different today if Jesus was not alive and with you?
Read: 1 John 4:7-22. What is the connection between God and love? How should God’s love for us impact the way we live our lives?
Tell about a person in your life that really needs to experience God’s love for the first time or in a deeper way than they ever have. What specific things can you do to be a conduit of God’s love to this person?
Read: Ephesians 4:32. What does it mean to believe that we are called to forgive those who have wronged us “just as in Christ God forgave you”?
What makes this kind of forgiveness difficult? What steps can we take to grow into a forgiving person who extends the same grace we received from Jesus?
Read: John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14-16. What does Jesus mean when He declares himself the “Light of the world”? What does it look like when the people of Jesus “have the light of life” and shine it in the world?
Read: 1 John 5:4-5. What do you think Jesus means when He says that our faith can overcome the world?
What is one thing in this world you believe needs to be overcome with the power, glory, and presence of Jesus? What can you (individually and as a group) do to be part of God’s plan to bring victory over this thing?
