John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for entering history, offering His life, and for winning the victory for you. Pray for a deep awareness that you live in the victory of Jesus today and for eternity. Ask God to use you to pray for, love, serve, and share the Good News with people who do not yet know the victory of Jesus.

“Live It!” Challenge

Share the Victory – Think about 2-3 friends or family members who do not yet know the love, grace, and victory of Jesus. Commit to doing three things over the next seven days.
1) Pray for their heart to open up to Jesus before you have lunch each day this week.
2) Extend an invitation to a church service, event, or gathering by the end of the week.
3) Send them a text or note letting them know you have been praying for them and ask if they have any specific prayer needs you could lift up on their behalf.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about when you became a follower of Jesus and how your life has changed since you received His forgiveness and love. If you are not yet a Christian, what is the biggest obstacle in the way?

  2. Read: John 14:1-9
What do you learn about heaven and Jesus in the first four verses of this passage?

  3. What do you think Jesus means when He says each of these? I am the way! I am the truth! I am the life! No one comes to the Father except through me.

  4. What do you learn about the person of God the Father and the person of God the Son as you read this passage?

  5. Is Jesus’ language in this passage a sign of His love and grace or of unkind exclusion? Explain.

  6. Read: John 3:1-8
What does it mean to be “born again”? Why is new spiritual birth essential for a person to go to heaven?

  7. Tell about a person you love who still needs to be born again. What do you think is getting in the way of them placing faith in Jesus?

  8. What steps can you take to share the love and Good News of Jesus with this person? How can your group members pray for you and encourage you as you seek to reach out to this person?

  9. Read: Romans 10:8-13
    Question?

  10. Why is belief in our heart essential for salvation? What must we believe to become a follower of Jesus?

  11. Why is a declaration with our lips and a profession of faith necessary for salvation? What is it that a person needs to declare at the point of salvation?
