Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for His resurrection and that He is alive and present with us always! Ask Jesus to help you notice His presence with you in the flow of your normal days. Pray for courage to tell God what is really on your heart and mind.

“Live It!” Challenge

What’s on Your Mind? – Jesus cares about what’s on your mind. Take time this week to identify the three or four things that seem to occupy most of your mental time and energy. Talk with Jesus about these each day. Tell Him what you are thinking, what is causing excitement or anxiety. Ask for His leadership and strength to face all that is happening in your life.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Where is a place you go or walk where you really sense the presence of Jesus and closeness with Him? Why do you think this place connects you with the Savior so naturally?

  2. Read: Luke 24:13-18. Tell about a time you really sense that Jesus showed up in the flow of your life and guided (or carried) you through.

  3. Why do you think there are time Jesus is near but we don’t recognize His presence? What gets in the way of us seeing and noticing that Jesus is with us?

  4. Jesus asked the two men on the road about what was on their mind. Why is it important to tell Jesus what is on our hearts and minds, even when He already knows?

  5. Read: Luke 24:19-27. Sometimes we forget that Jesus was fully human and that He laughed, rejoiced, and interacted with real people in real ways. How do you see Jesus’ sense of humor in this passage or other places in the Bible?

  6. Jesus was walking with these men and talking with them as they sorted out who He was. How has Jesus been patient and caring with you as you have sought to walk with Him and understand His ways?

  7. How has reading and studying the Scriptures helped you discover who Jesus is and what He wants for your life?

  8. Read: Luke 24:28-35. Jesus loves it when our eyes are opened and we get fresh insight to who He is and the truth of His Word. Tell about a time that your eyes were really opened to His truth and the teaching of the Scriptures.

  9. When these men realized who Jesus was, they just had to tell others. Who is a person in your life that really needs to meet, recognize, and follow Jesus? How can your group members pray for you and cheer you on as you seek to tell this person about how you have met the Lord Jesus?
