Some people take a long time to get to the point. They have a slow wind up before they say that they are thinking. Others simply say what is on their mind with clear, brief, even blunt words. The Minor Prophets fit clearly into the second group. They get to the point with piercing and powerful words. They wake us up to truth and paint pictures of God that are unforgettable. When we read the Minor Prophets we discover that God is absolutely just and won’t stand for injustice. Pride kills our relationships, our faith, and eventually us. Putting trust in anything but God will end in disaster. When we rebel, there are consequences. As long as there is life, there is hope.
