Life is full of surprises. Sometimes these are wonderful, at other times they are deeply challenging. At all times, when we walk with Jesus through the surprises of life, we can grow and learn to honor Him. In this five week series we will dig into the book of Nehemiah and learn that we can all be surprised by God’s call, the conflicts of life (particularly relational), the power of prayer, the weight of the work we are called to do, and the amazing victory we experience when we walk with God.

SERIES BEGINS February 2, 2020

Week 3: The Joy of Fun, Play, and Laughter

The God we worship and follow is the most joyful being in the universe! Yes, he is holy, sovereign, and King over all kings, but He is also the source of celebration and delight. God called His people to regular celebrations, feasts, and times of joy. He delights in the joy of His children. If we are going to follow His will, ways, and Word, we must become people of joy! When we do, every relationship gets better. (Psalm 126:1-3, Prov. 17:22, Ecc. 3:4, Acts. 2:42-47)

From Series: "Whole Relationships In a Broken World"

We live in a time when relationships are growing more complex, commitment to hang in there is waning, and self-centeredness is leading people to bail out on their relational commitments so that they can find personal pleasure and fulfillment. Jesus taught us that, next to loving God, loving people is the most important thing we could ever do. In this series, we will look at how we can live out the second commandment given by Jesus, “To love our neighbor as ourselves.”
