Memorize and Reflect
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)Prayer Direction
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you need self-control the most at this time in your life. Pray for a real picture of the costs and consequences if you do not grow this fruit of the Spirit in your life in the coming year. Ask God to give you a vision of how your life could get better and honor God more if you grow this fruit. Pray for wisdom to set a course of growth and steps forward in self-control.“Live It!” Challenge
Planning for Growth: Use the action process provided here to think, pray, and plan to grow in self-control over this coming year.Small Group Discussion
