Memorize and Reflect

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect… (1 Peter 3:15)

Prayer Direction

Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a deeper love and passion for people who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior. Pray for diligence and consistency to practice sharing your testimony and the story of Jesus so you are equipped and prepared when God opens a door. Ask God to grow Shoreline Church into a powerful lighthouse that radiates the light of Jesus in our community, nation, and world!

“Live It!” Challenge

Practice Presentation: Make a decision to learn to share at least one or two simple gospel presentations. There are a number of examples in the book, Organic Outreach for Ordinary People, as well as video examples on the Organic Outreach Website (organicoutreach.org). Practice presenting the gospel out loud as you drive in your car, take a walk, or even practice in front of a mirror. Then, when you feel confident enough, practice with a Christian friend or family member. Ask them for feedback so that you can become more comfortable and organic as you share the story of Jesus. Finally, pray daily for an open door to share the good news of Jesus with someone in your life who is not yet following the Savior… God is waiting to open this door!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about one of the people who shared the message of Jesus with you? What did they share and how did they share it? What impact has this person had on your life?

  2. Tell about one person you love and care about who does not yet know and follow Jesus. How is God using you (or how might God use you) to share the message, love, and joy of Jesus with this person?

  3. How can your group members support you in prayer as you seek to share the love and truth of Jesus with this person?

  4. Read: Luke 15:3-7. What does this parable teach us about the heart of God for people who are still not aware of His love and grace? How should our hearts become more like the heart of God as we interact with people who are still far from Jesus?

  5. What are some of the reasons that God rejoices and all heaven celebrates when a lost person comes how to God through Jesus?

  6. Read: Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:7-8. What does the resurrected Jesus say to His followers about His call for them to share in His mission? What are ways you can follow these instructions of the Lord with greater passion and faithfulness?

  7. What are some of the things that seem to get in the way of Christians boldly and consistently talking to others about Jesus? What most gets in your way?

  8. Why is it so important that we are praying for the lost, spending time with them, and sharing the story of Jesus? What actions can you take in the coming weeks to engage more in organic outreach?

  9. How can your group members encourage each other, pray for each other, and keep each other accountable to engage in faith sharing?
