Memorize and Reflect

But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! ([bible]Amos 5:24[/bible])

Prayer Direction

Invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and life and show you any overt or hidden injustice in your life. Pray for humility to hear and respond to God’s warnings when you are heading toward spiritual danger. Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to fill you so your whole life reflects the heart and will of God.

“Live It!” Challenge

Sunday Study - Take time to notice how you behave at church. What is your attitude? How do you speak? How do you treat others? Where is your focus? Then, watch yourself during the week. Ask God to help you live a consistent life where worship, service, compassion, and kindness mark all you do…every day of the week.

Small Group Discussion

  1. What are some of the signs of injustice you see in our world and in our culture?

  2. What are some of the injustices that can happen right around us that we might not notice or do anything about?

  5. Read: Amos 4:4-5 and Amos 5:21-24 Why do you think God is so bothered with people who worship and follow religious patterns but live lives radically different than what they claim to believe? What are examples of how this can happen in our lives?

  6. What are ways we can let justice roll like a river and righteousness like a never-ending stream? What can you do as a group to bring justice in your community?

  7. Read: Amos 8:11-12 We live in a day where God’s Word is available at any moment. Why is it important that we feast on God’s Word? How can we increase our Bible consumption?

  8. What step can you take to go deeper in reading, studying, and following the Scriptures? How can your group members pray for you and keep you accountable?
