Memorize and Reflect

Numbers 27:16-17
“May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”

Prayer Direction

Pray for Shoreline’s Leadership Team as they bring prayer, wisdom, and strong partnership to guide Shoreline into the future. Pray for the pastors of Shoreline as they seek to bring healthy spiritual leadership to the congregation. Pray for Shoreline’s Directional Team as they meet weekly to discern and plan for the present and the future. Pray for Pastor Kevin and Pastor Shawn as they partner in leadership of the day-to-day direction and health of Shoreline Church.

“Live It!” Challenge

Discover a New Prayer List – On the Shoreline Website, we have a list of both the Leadership Team and the Department Leaders and Pastors of the church. Consider using this as a prayer list to lift the leaders of the church.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a new work you have seen God do at Shoreline or another church in the past that really honored Jesus and propelled the church forward.

  2. What is a new thing you see God doing at Shoreline now, and how can you pray for it and support this exciting work of the Lord?

  3. Read: Isaiah 43:18-21. Why is it essential to stop clinging to the past and follow God into His new plans and will for His Church?

  4. In this passage, we read that God provides exactly what we need to move into His plan for the future (like water in an arid and desert-like land). How have you experienced God’s provision to accomplish His plans for your life? Why should we trust Him for direction and all we need for the next chapter of His plan?

  5. Read: Numbers 27:12-18. What was Moses’ greatest concern in this time of transition? What does this teach you about the heart and character of Moses?

  6. Moses had been a long-term, strong leader for God’s people. How do you think Joshua might have felt stepping in as the nation's leader at this critical time in their history? Why was Moses’ affirmation and blessing so important at this time?

  7. Read: Judges 4:1-24. Although this is a sad and shocking account of what happened, what do we learn about the partnership of Deborah and Barak? Why do you think God often pairs or groups people to accomplish His purposes?

  8. Why is partnership in a local church (of staff, Leadership Team Members, and congregational members) so important if we are going to step fully into God’s plans and purposes for the future?

  9. What are some specific ways we can pray and serve in this exciting season in the life of Shoreline Church?
