Memorize and Reflect

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for winning the victory, ruling over all things, and giving us hope in the tough times of life. Pray for power to stand strong in faith no matter what you face. Ask Jesus to protect His Church and His people in this time of conflict and division. May we be united in the Name of Jesus!

“Live It!” Challenge

See the Story – Take time to read the whole book of Revelation in one sitting. It does not take that long. Turn off the TV, your computer, and put your phone on silent. Then, read Revelation and let your mind picture the images and your heart embrace the message. Don’t dissect it or try to figure it all out. Just see it like the vision it is. And let God reveal His presence, power, victory, and glory!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Read: Revelation 1:1-3 - Why do you think God blesses those who read and hear this heavenly vision? How has the Word of God blessed your life in the past?

  2. Read: Revelation 1:4-8 - What do you learn about Jesus in this passage? (Hint, there is a lot!). How can the truth about Jesus in this passage help Christians who are going through hard times?

  3. How has the blood of Jesus set us free? How do you experience the freedom of Jesus in your life now and how will we experience His freedom for eternity?

  4. Read: Revelation 1:12-16 - What does this vision of Jesus make you feel? How does it give you confidence and courage to follow Him no matter what you face in this life?

  5. Tell about a time that you felt Jesus close to you in a deep and personal way. How did confidence in His presence carry you through that time?

  6. Read: Revelation 1:17-18 - What do you learn about Jesus’ power and authority from this passage?

  7. Tell about a time you felt weak and thought you could not press on but Jesus came and empowered you with His presence? How is His power superior to our efforts and abilities?

  8. In this vision of Jesus, we are told that He is the one who loves us (v.5). What has Jesus done to show the greatness of His love for us and how can we share this love with others?

  9. Read: Revelation 1:5 & Revelation 1:18 - This chapter of Revelation assures us that Jesus has power and dominion over hell, death, the grave, and eternity! If we truly believe this about our Savior, how should this impact the way we live in this world?
