Memorize and Reflect

After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. (Acts 16:10)

Prayer Direction

“Live It!” Challenge

Take a Prayerful Walk-Take fifteen minutes in the coming couple of weeks. Just walk around the campus of 2500 Garden Road, both inside and outs ide (if you live in Monterey) and prayerfully ask God, what do we need to do to care for this wonderful place He has given us? How is our Base Camp? What can we do to build a strong Base Camp so we can reach our community and the world?

Small Group Discussion

  1. Watch: Called Video for Week 3
What is one thing you appreciate about the campus God has given us at 2500 Garden Road? How have you seen God use this space to bless His people and impact our surrounding community?

  2. What is something you have noticed around the 2500 Garden Road campus that needs repair, development, or a significant upgrade? How could taking care of this need help us be more effective in our ministry?

  3. Read: Acts 16:6-10
How do you see God at work directing and guiding Paul and his ministry team to the region of Macedonia? What was the mission God gave Paul as he headed to Macedonia?

  4. What are some of the ways God is calling Shoreline to minister to our community in Monterey? How are you seeing lives changed through the ministry of Shoreline?

  5. Read: Acts 16:11-15
What do we learn about the city of Philippi in this passage? How does the gospel of Jesus begin to spread in this region?

  6. What are some of the unique features of Monterey County that make it a strategic place for the message of Jesus to grow and spread through our country and world?

  7. How is Shoreline Community Church being used as a conduit of God’s love and the message of Jesus in our county and beyond?

  8. Read: Acts 16:22-33
What were some of the challenges and resistance Paul and his ministry partners faced as they tried to bring the message of Jesus to the region of Macedonia and the people of Philippi?

  9. How did Paul and his companions respond to the resistance and conflict they faced?

  10. What are some of the challenges members of Shoreline (and other Christians living for Jesus on the Monterey Peninsula) might face in the coming years as we seek to bring the love and good news of Jesus to our community and beyond? How can we prepare to stand strong and share Jesus joyfully, even when there are people who resist?
