Prayer Direction
Read: Titus 2:7-8. Thank God for the opportunity to be a light for Jesus! Thank Jesus for giving you the opportunities to teach, lead, and model integrity to others, especially those who are not yet followers of Jesus. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you any area(s) that you might not be walking with integrity. Confess those areas and ask God for His forgiveness and the strength to make the necessary corrections and life changes moving forward.“Live It!” Challenge
Check Your Heart, Your Words, and Your Speed - This week, be intentional about setting aside the first part of your day to spend with Jesus in His Word and prayer. As you walk through your day, invite the Holy Spirit to alert you to potential areas where your integrity could be compromised, such as making false statements, sharing unverified information, or even driving beyond the speed limit. When you are aware of these potentially compromising situations, choose to please God by your actions or words. At the end of the day, make a note of those areas, how you responded, and what you learned from those moments. Ask God to continue to show you other areas as the week progresses.Small Group Discussion
Who is someone in your life who has modeled integrity in a powerful yet practical way? What is it that makes you choose them?
Read: Matthew 5:33-37. What was Jesus communicating to His followers in this portion of the Sermon on the Mount?
Why would Jesus want His followers to understand this important aspect of life? How might this be distinctly different from the religious leaders and rulers of that time and culture?
Read: 1 Chronicles 29:17-19. What was King David expressing to God? Why do you think God is pleased with personal integrity, especially in our stewarding of His gifts to us?
How did Jesus model integrity throughout His lifetime? Hint: Hebrews 4:15
Read: Titus 2:6-8. What is Paul communicating to Titus? Why was it important that Titus teach the young men and lead the church with integrity?
As you reflect on this week’s message, how might you walk with integrity with greater intentionality? Be specific and ask your group to pray for you as you take the steps to do so.
