Memorize and Reflect

"When he (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." ([bible]Matthew 9:36 [/bible])

Prayer Direction

Ask God to raise your outreach temperature in the coming week. Pray for eyes to see people as they really are, as God sees them. Invite the Holy Spirit to give you boldness next time you feel nudged to share your story of faith or the story of Jesus.

“Live It!” Challenge

Dare to Be Accountable: Find one Christian friend who will commit to ask you about your outreach temperature at least twice a month for the next three months. If they do not go to Shoreline or were not here this Sunday, ask them to watch the first five minutes of the sermon online so they understand the One Degree Rule.

Small Group Discussion

  1. What is Organic Outreach and how does it differ from different types of evangelism/outreach that you may have seen in the past?

  2. Describe how comfortable you are personally with the idea of reaching out with the love, message, and hope of Jesus. What is one way you can seek to be more open to and engaged in outreach in the coming five weeks of this Level Up series?

  3. What does Organic Outreach look like in your own life? What are the ordinary places you are placed everyday that you can reach out?

  4. Read:Romans 10:14-15 . What does this verse say about the way in which people hear about Jesus Christ? How does this inspire you to step up in your own personal outreach?

  5. What are some of the things in your life currently that would get in the way of you reaching out to those in your family, work, and neighborhood? (Behaviors, attitudes, relationships, schedules, etc.) What steps can you take to begin removing one of these obstacles?

  6. Tell about a time you missed an opportunity to reach out to someone and describe how you feel about this? What can you do to make sure that you don’t miss another opportunity when it comes your way?

  7. Who is one spiritually disconnected person you hope to share the gospel with? Talk about what is motivating you to reach out to this person. How can you grow a deeper love for them?

  8. Prayer: Invite God to fire up the hearts of the people in your Growth Group to take advantage of the everyday opportunities they have to reach out to those around them.
