Study John’s Gospel – Take time in the coming weeks to read the story of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John. Look for ways that this reveals the person and plan of God to the world.Small Group Discussion
How were you first introduced to the Bible? What did you think of the Bible at that time of your life?
If you have a favorite Bible passage (or one you really love), what is it and what does it mean to you?
What are some of the things people treat as “Sacred Texts” other than the Bible and why is it so important that we know what source we are looking to for life direction, hope, and truth?
Read: Genesis 15:1 ; Psalm 33:6 ; Luke 11:28 and Acts 18:11. What does the Bible teach us about the “Word of God” or the “Word of the Lord”?
Read: John 1:1-4 and John 1:14. What do you learn about the “Word of God” from John chapter 1?
If words are meant to help us understand something with greater clarity, how does the Bible help us understand God and how does Jesus reveal the character and heart of God?
Read: 2 Timothy 3:16-17. How have you experienced the truth of the Bible and why do you seek to base your life on the message of the Bible?
How have you experienced the Bible as beautiful and how does the truth of the Bible and the person of Jesus make your life more beautiful?
How has the Bible changed the direction and meaning of your life and how do you experience the relevance of God’s Word in your personal life?
