Memorize and Reflect

Revelation 3:3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

Prayer Direction

Ask God to show you where you are sleeping, dozing off, or becoming complacent about your faith. Pray for courage to repent and follow God with new passion. Ask for Holy Spirit revival in your heart, home, and church!

“Live It!” Challenge

Finish What is Unfinished – Identify one thing you know God has called you to do but you have not fully followed through on it. What will it take to do this action, stop this habit, or complete what God has called you to do? Pray for power, ask a friend to keep you accountable, and go for it!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a time you almost dozed off. What could have happened if you actually had fallen asleep at this moment?

  2. Read: Revelation 3:1-6 - If you were gathered with the church of Sardis when this letter was read to them, what feelings might have run through your heart as you heard the words to your church?

  3. What are some of the ways a person can appear to be alive and awake spiritually but actually be sleeping or spiritually dead? Why is this so dangerous?

  4. When we are called to remember what we have received and heard, what are some of the important things for us to remember? How will focusing on these things strengthen our faith?

  5. Jesus calls His people to repent (turn around). Tell about a time you recognized the need for revival and change in your spiritual life. How did you repent (turn around) and how did this change your life for the better?

  6. Read: Revelation 7:9-14 - What do you learn about worship as you see this amazing heavenly vision?

  7. Jesus was clear that his people can begin down a road following Him but not complete what we began. Tell about something you began to do because you felt God was leading you, but you got stalled and never finished what you started. How can your group members pray for you and cheer you on as you seek to complete what you started?

  8. Read: Revelation 3:4-6 and Revelation 7:9-11 - What does God want us to anticipate and look forward to if we have been cleansed by the finished work of Jesus on the cross? How does knowing these things give us power and hope as we live for Jesus today?

  9. How does bold and Jesus-centered worship empower us to live in holiness and walk with Jesus each day of our life? What can we do to increase the frequency and intensity of our worship?
