Memorize and Reflect

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Prayer Direction

Ask God to help you reach out to all sorts of people who need the love of Jesus…even difficult and challenging people. Pray for a generous heart that is ready to share material things and also spiritual truth. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you the staggering greatness of God’s forgiveness in your life so you can extend forgiveness freely to others.

“Live It!” Challenge

I Will Forgive - Write down a list of ten things God has forgiven you. Think about actions, attitudes, and thoughts. Reflect on when you were young as well as recent sins. Then, make a list of two or three things you are having a hard time forgiving in others. Ask yourself what your life would be like if God was just as forgiving as you are.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Who is a person that scattered a lot of the seed of God’s love and grace in your life and how did God use this person to draw you to Jesus or grow your faith?

  2. What excites you when you think about sharing God’s love and the message of Jesus with others? What makes you nervous or scares you?

  3. Read: Luke 5:12-14 As you think about the life of Jesus, there are many times when He reached out to people who were often avoided or shunned. Who were some of the different kinds of people Jesus reached out to and touched? Why do you think Jesus was so committed to love those who seemed unlovable?

  4. Who are some of the people that get forgotten and left out in our culture today? What are ways you can reach out to these kinds of people individually and as a group?

  5. Read: Luke 9:12-17 We can’t multiply food like Jesus did, but we can share what Jesus has given us. What are some of the things you have that you could share with others that would show God’s love? How could you naturally connect sharing spiritual truth as you share material things?

  6. Read: Matthew 9:2-3 Jesus spoke words of forgiveness often. We can’t offer eternal forgiveness in our own power (like Jesus did), but we can offer forgiveness in the name of Jesus. What are ways we can extend forgiveness, even when people don’t deserve forgiveness.

  7. Who is someone you are choosing not to forgive and how can you seek to extend God’s amazing grace to this person?

  8. What are ways you can scatter the love and truth of Jesus, in the next seven days, through connecting with the forgotten, sharing with those in need, and forgiving those who have wronged you?
