Ephesians 4:14-15[/bible}Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
Prayer Direction
Pray that you will be open and excited to take next steps in your own spiritual growth. Thank God for gifting you and making natural ways for you to serve and follow Him. Pray for your church to train and equip all of God’s people for the work of ministry.“Live It!” Challenge
Try a Self-Assessment (or maybe all three) – Take time this week to do at least one of the Shoreline MPG self-assessments. Or, if you feel highly motivated, why not do all three and set up a meeting with a church leader who will talk and pray with you through the results of each of them. These assessment tools can be found on the Shoreline website under the RESOURCES Tab (Then look under the GROW column).Small Group Discussion
Tell about a road trip you took and one surprise along the way. Why do you think almost every long journey ends up having challenges and surprises?
Tell about a person in your life who is very spiritually mature and share what has helped them walk this road of growth in Jesus?
Read: Ephesians 4:13-15. Why is our spiritual growth so important to God and why should it be an ever-increasing priority in our lives?
What is one step forward that you can take to increase in one of these areas: Bible Engagement, Passionate Prayer, Joyful Generosity, or Humble Service? How can your group members pray for you and encourage you on this journey of growth in this specific area of your life?
Read: Matthew 22:35-38. The most important thing we can do is grow in our love for the God who made us and cherishes us! If you have read Sacred Pathways or taken the “Pathways Self-Assessment” what is your primary pathway to connect with God?
Tell about one or two ways you really connect with God and describe why this particular behavior or pathway helps you love and live more for Jesus.
Read: 1 Cor. 12:4-6. What is one area God has gifted you to serve Him, His Church, or other people? Share one story about how God has used this gift to be a blessing to others (and don’t be shy, because God gets the glory).
What is one step forward you can take in developing and using a spiritual gift God has given you for His glory? How can your group members keep you accountable to take this step?
