Memorize and Reflect

"So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there." ([bible]Acts 17:17 [/bible])

Prayer Direction

Ask God to give you discipline to study His Word, the Bible, with diligence and consistency. Pray for opportunities to defend, explain, and clarify what you believe…with a humble and gentle spirit.

“Live It!” Challenge

Read a Book: Nabeel wrote a book called, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus. Consider picking up a copy in the Shoreline Café and reading it. Nabeel’s story will give many examples of how you can be loving, humble, and also bold and direct with articulating your faith in Jesus.

Small Group Discussion

  1. How did you work on loving people more in your daily life this past week and did you see a difference in the way you viewed them or your relationship to them?

  2. Read: 1 Peter 3:15 What does this verse say about the way we should be prepared to share about our faith and the manner in which we are to do it?

  3. What are specific ways we can prepare to share our faith and learn to be ready to put into words the hope Jesus has placed in our hearts?

  4. Read: 2 Corinthians 10:5 Does this sound intimidating or does this make you excited? Describe how you feel when you read this verse. Tell about your personal disposition when it comes to engaging in debate and discussion on matters of God.

  5. How effective are you in sharing the gospel with others? If this is a challenge for you, how can you increase your time in Scripture so that you will be more equipped and excited to share your faith in Jesus naturally with others?

  6. How are you pursuing knowledge that strengthens your faith in God and what are some things you’ve wanted to do but have put on hold? What action can you take in the coming days to sharpen your abilities in sharing faith?

  7. Read: Acts 17:16-34 What does Paul do in the city of Athens? What can we learn from his approach to sharing the gospel message?

  8. What steps are you going to take in the next week to grow in your ability to articulate and share your faith? (Ex. Read the book of Romans, read articles on areas you are interested in, ask someone who is more knowledgeable to share with you, find a new book to read)
