Memorize and Reflect

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

Prayer Direction

Ask Jesus to give you a fresh vision of who He is and who he wants you to become. Ask for power to open God’s Word every day and really listen to what the Father wants to speak to you through the Bible.

“Live It!” Challenge

Pick one: At the end of the message on Sunday, pastor Kevin gave a whole list of possible actions we can take as we seek to become more like Jesus (you can find these in the message notes on the Shoreline website). Pick one of these challenges and really go after it for two-weeks straight. Once this is part of your life, take another challenge.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about one person you know whose life really looks like Jesus. What is it about this person that makes you think of Jesus?

  2. What is one example from this person’s life that you could start following and how might your life become more whole and like Jesus if you made this action or attitude a part of who you are?

  3. Read: Psalm 119:1-16. What is one way you can spend more time reading, learning from, and following the teaching of the Bible?

  4. What are one or two times in your day that you can infuse more prayer in some kind of natural and regular way?

  5. What gets in the way of you worshipping with passion and your whole heart (when you are gathered with God’s people and when you are in the flow of a normal day)? How can you overcome one of these obstacles?

  6. Read: John 13:1-16. What is one way you serve Jesus and others and how does this honor our Savior? How can you take one step deeper into a lifestyle of humble service?

  7. Why is it hard for so many people, even committed followers of Jesus, to live with joyful generosity? What can unleash fresh generosity in our life?

  8. Why is being in regular community with God’s people essential for a healthy and whole life? What do we miss when we fail to connect with God’s people and grow community?

  9. What could happen in Monterey County if every person who loves Jesus would actually pray for people who are far from Jesus, love them with the grace of Jesus, and share the story of Jesus when there were natural opportunities?

  10. What is one step you could take to share the love and grace of God more naturally and freely?
