Memorize and Reflect

John 10:10 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Prayer Direction

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the tactics of the enemy in our world and specifically against you. Pray for the resurrection power of Jesus to fill you so you can stand strong and fight back! Pray for discipline to read and follow the teaching of the Bible so you can stand strong in your faith.

“Live It!” Challenge

Commit it to memory – Take time this week to memorize and reflect on one or more of the following passages: 1 John 4:4; James 4:7; 1 Peter 1:14-15.

Small Group Discussion

  1. What are ways you see Satan at work seeking to bring destruction in our world and your life?

  2. Why is it important that we acknowledge the presence and work of Satan in our world? What are some dangers we could face if we deny or ignore the powerful work of our enemy?

  3. Read: John 10:10; 1 Peter 5:8-9; and John 8:44
What do these passages teach us about the nature and tactics of the devil?

  4. What are ways we can be alert and sober (serious) about how the enemy is trying to work in our life? How do you stay tuned into the ever-present potential of attack from the devil?

  5. Read: 1 Corinthians 15:54-57; Romans 8:37-39; and Revelation 12:37-39
What does the Bible teach about the authority, victory, and power of Jesus?

  6. Tell about a time you saw and experienced the victorious power of Jesus over the enemy in your life or the life of someone you know.

  7. How can we partner with Jesus in His desire to win victories in our world and life? Though Jesus has won the war, how do we stand with Him in the battles we still face?

  8. Read: Matthew 4:1-11
What was Jesus’ primary weapon against the lies and enticements of the enemy? How can we use this same weapon as we stand against the devil’s schemes?

  9. Tell about your personal engagement in Scripture and how you can take the next step in going deeper in God’s Word. How can your group members pray for you as you seek to know, love, and follow God’s Word with greater passion?

  10. Read: Luke 11:9-10
Why is prayer so powerful as we stand against the enemy? How can your group members be praying for you as you seek to follow Jesus and resist the devil’s enticements?
