Acts 2:41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Prayer Direction

Invite the Holy Spirit of God to fill you, lead you, and give you boldness. Pray for Shoreline Church to be relentlessly committed to sharing the good news of Jesus. Lift up people in your life who do not yet know the grace and friendship of Jesus.

“Live It!” Challenge

Say it Clearly – Take time to write (or record) your story of coming to faith in Jesus. Do this in no more than 200-250 words and practice sharing this powerful story of life-transformation and do it with words that anyone could understand. Pray for opportunities to share your story with friends and family who are not yet following Jesus.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a time the power of something surprised you (a wave, someone’s words, anything).

  2. Read: Acts 1:4-9. What kind of power were the disciples still longing for? What did Jesus offer them that was very different than what they expected?

  3. Read: Acts 2:1-12. Why did God allow His followers to speak in languages they had never learned? What does this say about God’s heart for the nations of the world to hear and understand the message of grace found in Jesus?

  4. Read: Acts 2:16-21. How is Jesus the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy? Why is it so important that we understand how Jesus fulfilled the promises of the Old Testament?

  5. Read: Acts 2:22-24. Why is confidence in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus central to our faith?

  6. Read: Acts 2:36-39. What do we mean when we declare that Jesus is “both Lord and Messiah”? Why are both important?

  7. Jesus shifted the thinking of His disciples from earthly to heavenly. What thinking in your life needs to shift to a more heavenly perspective?

  8. What gets in the way of us clearly and consistently sharing the good news and story of Jesus with others?

  9. What are specific ways that we can boldly share the truth and story of Jesus with people who do not believe in Him?
