Memorize and Reflect

John 17:20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message…"

Prayer Direction

Pray every day this week for one lost lamb that God cares about and you care about. Ask God to draw their heart to Jesus. Also, pray that you will be bold to love, serve, and share the good news with this person.

“Live It!” Challenge

Get the GOGO Deep in Your Heart – Take time this week to memorize the eight simple words of the Gospel GOGO. Practice sharing the gospel using these words as reminders of the simple story of God’s love for lost people, Our problem with sin, God’s solution of salvation through Jesus, and Our needed response of faith and following the Savior.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Who is one wandering sheep that God loves and you love? What do you think is keeping them from putting faith in Jesus and how can your group members pray for you as you partner with God in reaching this person?

  2. Read: John 17:20 - What is the message God has given you to share with our world? Put it in your own words.

  3. Who shared the message of the gospel with you? How did their words and life help you come to faith in Jesus?

  4. Read: John 17:21-23 - Why do you think there is so much division in our world right now? How have you seen this spirit of division slip into the church?

  5. What can we do to build unity in the church and resist the temptation to divide over secondary issues rather than unite around our faith in Jesus?

  6. Read: John 17:23 - Tell about how you came to understand that God loves you. What are practical ways we can share God’s love with the people in our life who do not yet know that they are deeply loved by their Creator?

  7. Read: John 17:24-26 - How do you feel when you realize that God wants to spend forever with you? How are you motivated to share your faith when you realize that God wants to be with all lost sheep in heaven someday.

  8. Think about all God has done to make it possible to be in a loving relationship with you. What are ways we can express our thanks and appreciation for all God has done to save us?

  9. What are ways your small group members can support and encourage you in your efforts to reach out to loved ones who are still far from Jesus?
