Memorize and Reflect

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. (Psalm 96:1-2)

Prayer Direction

Take time to thank God for the big and little things He has created for your enjoyment. Praise God for the staggering detail and order He placed in His created world, including in you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you treat every person you meet like a unique and wonderful creation of your heavenly Father.

“Live It!” Challenge

IC in U - Pay attention to how you see God at work in the people around you (Christians and those who do not yet know God’s love and grace on a personal level). Then, tell people, “This is what I see in you!” (ICinU). Let them know that you see God’s amazing creativity and handiwork in them.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about your favorite place in nature. Why do you love this place and how do you see God’s creativity unveiled when you are there.

  2. Read: Psalm 8:1-9 How does God’s artwork in creation and vastness of what He has made reveal his character and nature? What can we learn about God just by looking at what He has made?

  3. When we get a glimpse of God’s power in creation (looking through a telescope, standing on the seashore during a massive storm, watching an electrical storm, or some other display), how can this have a humbling impact on how we see ourselves in relationship to God? If you have had a moment like this, tell about it.

  4. This Psalm makes it clear that God has given people responsibility to care for His creation. What are ways we could do a better job of treating God’s handiwork with respect and honor? How can churches work together to be good stewards of God’s creation?

  5. Read: Psalm 19:1-6 The psalmist is clear that creation speaks of God’s glory (even without audible words). What are some ways you have heard the heavens declare the glory of God? How can this form of speaking be more clear and powerful than words?

  6. Tell about a sunrise, sunset, or some other regular and rhythmic movement of God in creation that has revealed God’s presence to you. How does God speak through the daily rhythms of His created order?

  7. If we really believed that every person is a unique and wonderful creation of God, how might this change the way we view and treat the people we encounter in a normal day?

  8. What is one way you could honor God by taking better care of yourself (since you are a part of His wonderful creation)?

  9. What is one way you can care more for God’s creation in the flow of your normal week?

  10. Tell about your favorite place in nature. Why do you love this place and how do you see God’s creativity unveiled when you are there.
