Memorize and Reflect

1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for giving us an inheritance that no one can ever take away! Pray for wisdom to recognize and eyes to see when false teaching is presented as if it is truth. Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to open the Scriptures every day and feed on the life-giving truth of the Bible.

“Live It!” Challenge

Open the Book! – Commit to reading the Bible every day for the next week. Use the reading guide in this study or read two chapters of the Gospel of Mark every day (and three chapters on the last day to get in the whole gospel). Pray for an open heart to receive what God wants to teach you.

Small Group Discussion

  1. If you have placed your faith in Jesus as your Savior and the leader of your life, tell about how you came to faith in Jesus and when you prayed to receive His amazing grace and strong leadership.

  2. What are some of the false teachings in our culture and world about how a person finds forgiveness and is welcomed into heaven? Why are these teachings so dangerous?

  3. Read: 1 Peter 1:3-5 and 1 Peter 1:10-12. What does the Bible teach about the source of salvation and the way to heaven? Why is Jesus central to the biblical message of salvation?

  4. What are other passages you know that teach about the salvation that is found in Jesus, the Messiah? Read the passage and explain what you learn about the way to Salvation in Jesus.

  5. Read: 1 Peter 1:6-9. What does this passage teach us about times of suffering and the trials we all face?

  6. What helps you stand strong in the hard times of life? What would you say to someone who is going through a rough season? How can Jesus help them stand strong?

  7. Read: 1 Peter 1:10-12. What are some of the glories God has waiting for us when this life is over? Why does remembering these promises help us stand strong through the hard times of life?
