Memorize and Reflect
John 4:23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
Prayer Direction
Lift up prayers of praise for who God is (His character and attributes). Invite the Holy Spirit to fill and animate your worship so that you can be fully expressive about what is happening in your heart. Pray for commitment to be with God’s people to worship as often as you can!“Live It!” Challenge
Praiseworthy Journal – Get a journal or begin a document in your computer or on your phone. For the next week, try to notice things in your day that are worthy of moving you to praise God. Do your best to come up with at least ten praises a day (get creative and notice the little things; a butterfly, and the big things; the warmth of the sun). When you have finished a week, and when you have between 70-100 praises, consider sharing your list with someone you care about and encourage them to begin their own list!Small Group Discussion
Tell about a time you really felt drawn into a deep place of worship. Where were you and who were you with? What was happening? How did you experience the presence of God?
Read: Psalm 100. What does worship look and sound like in this Psalm?
What are different ways we can worship and how could each one express praise to God?
Read: John 4:4-26. What do you learn about the heart and character of Jesus as you read about this encounter between Jesus and this woman?
What do you learn about worship from this passage? What are wrong ways to look at worship and what are the right ways?
What are some ways you can step deeper into worship in both Spirit and Truth?
