Memorize and Reflect

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. ([bible]Ecclesiastes 5:10[/bible])

Prayer Direction

Thank God for the blessings in your life, both material and non-material. Ask God to show you where your view of finances differs from His view. Pray for your heart, perspective and actions to more closely align with God’s will for your finances.

“Live It!” Challenge

Give something away this week. Ask God to show you what he wants you to give away and to whom. God may prompt you to give something to a complete stranger, a family in need, a co-worker, a friend, or a relative. Listen to God’s direction and take action.

Small Group Discussion

  2. Read: Matthew 6:25-34 In what ways does money cause anxiety in your life? In what ways do you look at money to provide you with what you need, instead of looking to God? What would it look like to be free of anxiety when it comes to money?

  3. Read: Proverbs 3:9-10 What is the difference between giving God the first portion of your income instead of the last?

  6. Read: 1 John 3:17-18 Who around you has a physical need you could do something about? What specifically are you willing to sacrifice to meet that need?

  7. Read: Philippians 4:12 What does contentment look like in your life? What are some situations you have been content? How have you been discontent?

  8. What practical steps can you personally take to bring your financial life more in line with God’s perspective?
