Prayer Direction
Thank God the Father for His unfailing and eternal love and presence. Thank Jesus the Son for HIs creation, sustaining, and amazing love to willingly offer Himself to us and for us. Thank God the Holy Spirit for His movement and presence in your life as you seek to know God more and apply His Word in every aspect of your life. Invite God to reveal at least one fresh perspective, insight, or challenge for you to apply in your life with greater measure.“Live It!” Challenge
Experience and Explore the Triune God: As you reflect on the daily readings in God’s Word, spend some time in creation (walk on the beach, take a walk or hike, drive in your car) and take notice of the beauty and incredible design of your surroundings. Thank God the Father (the Author), Jesus the Son (the Creator and Sustainer), and God the Spirit (the Life-Giver) for their incredible and indescribable work as the One True God.Small Group Discussion
When was the first time someone shared with you about God? Describe what you were told and what you remembered. Has that narrative changed since then?
Read: Deuteronomy 6:4 and Isaiah 45:5. Why do you think God wanted to communicate His “Oneness” to His children so clearly? According to these verses, how did that contradict what many people believed at those times in history?
Read: Genesis 1:1-2 and John 1:1-3. How does each person of the Trinity function in a unique role within these passages?
How have you understood each of the different persons of the Trinity previously? How would you describe God to a non-believer or someone of another world religion?
Reflecting on this week’s message, what is one way you can experience and express God’s Oneness and distinctiveness as Three Persons? Be specific and ask your group to pray for you.
