Memorize and Reflect

Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Prayer Direction

Ask God to help you recognize that He has placed you in many different places so you can show His love and shine His light. Tell God that you are ready to follow where He leads and do what He calls you to do.

“Live It!” Challenge

Pray Through Your Week – Think through the week to come and reflect on each place you will go and who you might encounter in each place. As you think of specific places and people. Say out loud, “Here I am Lord, send me!” Prayerfully commit to enter each place with a heart filled with His love and eyes ready to see the needs of people around you.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a time when you sense God’s presence and leading in a very personal and real way.

  2. Read: Isaiah 6:1-4. What did Isaiah see, hear, feel, and experience in this vision?

  3. What thoughts and feelings do you think went through Isaiah during this experience?

  4. Read: Isaiah 6:5. How did Isaiah respond to his vision of God? What did this vision teach Isaiah about both God and himself

  5. Read: Isaiah 6:6-7. What did the heavenly being do to Isaiah’s mouth and what did this mean? What came out of Isaiah’s blistered lips and what did his words mean?

  6. Where are some of the places God might send you this week and how can you embrace these places as God’s mission assignment for you? How could you shine God’s light in one of these places?

  7. Our world is filled with fear and anxiety (Just like Isaiah’s world). How can you bring a presence of peace and hope from the Lord into one of the places you will go this week?

  8. Tell about a time you saw something that revealed the glory and holiness of God. How did this grow your understanding of the God who made you and loves you?

  9. Why did Isaiah break into a prayer of confession in the middle of this vision? Why is confession of sin (a declaration that we have unclean lips) so helpful and healing in our lives?

  10. What are attitudes and actions that reveal we are ready to follow God’s leading and respond to His commissioning?
