Prayer Direction

Ask for God to reveal areas in your life where you have fallen short or areas in your life that are not honoring God and holding you back from faithfully following Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom and discernment to recognize these areas in your life and to remove any barriers to allowing God to restore you or repenting and making the necessary changes in order to experience all that God has desires for you.

“Live It!” Challenge

Live in Freedom – Identify an area in your life that you have struggled with or are struggling with in your faith journey with Jesus. Read Romans 8. Write out 3-5 truths from this scripture that declare who you are and address our struggles and failures. Pray these truths over yourself for the next week and share these with another person you love and trust.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a time in your life when you as a child fell or failed? How did it happen? What were the circumstances and consequences? What did you learn from that experience?

  2. Read: Matthew 4:18-20. What was Jesus' simple invitation to these two experienced fishermen? How did Peter and his brother respond?

  3. When did you accept Jesus’ invitation to “Follow Me”? What was your life like before you met Jesus?

  4. How has your life changed since you accepted His invitation to follow Him?

  5. Read: Luke 22:54-62. What do we learn from this example in the life of Peter? What do you believe was the root cause of Peter’s denial of knowing and following Jesus?

  6. Tell about a time you failed or fell short in your walk with Jesus? What do you believe contributed/caused that failure?

  7. Read: John 18:15-19. What do we learn about Jesus in this passage? How did He restore and renew Peter’s call to follow?

  8. Is there an area of your life that you need Jesus’ restoration and renewal? How can this group pray for you and encourage you to fully embrace His grace and mercy?
