Prayer Direction

Ask Jesus to draw you to His heart this Christmas since it is your true home! Pray for God to give you the courage to invite some friends to Church during the Christmas season. Thank Jesus for leaving His heavenly home to bring you home to heaven.

“Live It!” Challenge

Welcome Home – Pray about one person or family that has not been in church for some time. Use one of the invitations you received from Shoreline to give an invitation. We have text invitations, social media invitations you can post, and more!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a great invitation you received and accepted or about an invitation you turned down that you later regretted.

  2. Read: Luke 2:4-7. Jesus left the glory of heaven to be born in the stench and humility of a manger. What are some contrasts between where Jesus was for all eternity and where he came to be born for us?

  3. What does the level of Jesus’ sacrifice on Christmas say about God’s love for us?

  4. Read: Luke 2:8-20. What was interesting or unique about how God invited the shepherds to the manger to encounter Jesus?

  5. Share one of the unique ways God worked or moved to invite you to the manger to meet Jesus and enter a relationship with Him.

  6. How did the shepherds respond to this invitation, and what is surprising about this?

  7. Read: Luke 2:20. What did the shepherds see and hear (from the encounter that first night when they were tending their sheep to the moment they saw Jesus with their own eyes)?

  8. What impact would these experiences have had on you if you had been among the shepherds that night in the fields? What did the shepherds do in response to the invitation they received

  9. How can you invite others to meet and encounter Jesus this Christmas season?
