Memorize and Reflect

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. ([bible]Hebrews 6:10[/bible])

Prayer Direction

Paul tells us in [bible]1 Corinthians 3:14[/bible], “If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.” Pray that you will be found faithful in the work of loving others and thus fulfilling the command of Jesus Christ ([bible]John 15:8-11[/bible]). Pray also for strength to love others, even when you feel empty and don’t have love to give. Ask for God to love others through you.

“Live It!” Challenge

The question is, "Why are we patient with others?" The answer is that we are waiting for that reward from the hand of our Lord for such faithfulness to His command. The last words we have of the Apostle John are “My little children, love one another for this is all sufficient!” Identify one person you are having a hard time being patient with. Ask God for patience and strength. Then, make an extra effort this week to show God’s love to this person.
