Memorize and Reflect

John 10:17-18
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for His unconditional love and His indescribable gift of salvation through His death on the cross of Calvary. Thank Him as well for the glory and power of His Resurrection. Ask Him to help you see any area in your life that is holding you back from fully experiencing His power and presence in your life. Pray for the humility and boldness to walk in the power of His forgiveness and His resurrection. Pray for Him to show you 1-2 people in your life who don’t yet know Jesus that you could invite to a Shoreline service.

“Live It!” Challenge

Experiencing the Power and Joy of a Renewed Life

Small Group Discussion

  1. What did you experience over this past weekend, whether in the Good Friday service or the Easter service? Share with the group one way God moved in your life or revealed Himself to you in a fresh new way.

  2. Read: John 10:17-18. Why are these words from Jesus essential to our Christian faith and to our understanding of Jesus’ love for you and the power to save you?

  3. How does this reality bring us hope and power when we face temptation or struggle with shame, guilt, and/or fear?

  4. Read: John 10:10. Jesus describes living under the influence of the world and Satan (the thief). How does the life Jesus offers differ from what the thief offers?

  5. When you think of the phrase life to the full, what comes to your mind? Does it equate with comfort?

  6. Read: Matthew 28:1-10. What was the response of the two women to the instructions of the angel? What was their response to meeting Jesus face to face?

  7. Who is one person in your life who is not yet a follower of Jesus, and how might you, with joy and a renewed sense of urgency, share His story with them? How can your group members pray for you to humbly and boldly share Jesus with this person?
