Memorize and Reflect

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Prayer Direction

Thank God for making a way to heaven through the life, death, and resurrection of His only Son Jesus! Pray for eyes to see and ears to hear in order to recognize the truth. Ask for power to speak words of truth.

“Live It!” Challenge

Truth Detector: Our world is filled with lies, deceit, and deception. Sometimes, like the proverbial frog in the kettle, we become numb to the lies and don’t even notice them. This coming week, make a point of listening for truth and lies. Keep a journal (in your phone or on paper) of truth you hear, and also words that are false and deceptive. What do you notice, more truth or more lies?

Small Group Discussion

  1. Read: John 14:1-6
What are some of the things that can trouble our hearts, cause worry, and bring anxiety in this life? How might the words of Jesus in this passage move us away from worry and toward peace, hope, and confidence?

  2. What is the difference between saying Jesus is “a” way and saying Jesus is “the” way to God, salvation, and heaven?

  3. Why do so some people get upset with the idea that Jesus is the only way to God and heaven? Why is it critically important for us to continue to believe and declare this, even when some don’t want to hear it?

  4. Tell about a person who had an impact on you becoming a Christian. What was it about this person that helped you understand the reality of faith and the person of Jesus?

  5. How does the order of the universe help reveal the presence and power of God? How have you experienced God through His creation and order in the universe?

  6. Read: Ephesians 2:1-5 and John 10:10
How has God changed your life since you placed your faith in Him? How can these changes become part of your testimony that Jesus is alive and powerful?

  7. How have you experienced answers to prayer? How can these specific answered prayers give witness to the reality of Jesus?

  8. Who is one person in your life that you love and care about who is not yet a follower of Jesus? What can you say and do to help this person see that Jesus is alive and at work in the world (and in your life)?
