Sept 28 – Oct 4

Curated Reading for Sept 28 – Oct 4

Sermon Series: 30 Years: Transforming Lives and Transforming Communities! Week 4
Sermon Title: Sharing His Story delivered on September 28, 2025
Day 1 READ: Matthew 9:36-38. What was it that moved Jesus to compassion? What was He referencing when He said “the harvest is plentiful”? What are the harvest fields like in our world today? What do you think is your harvest field? Why do you think Jesus said the workers are few?
Day 1 PRAY: Take a moment to pause and pray, thanking Jesus for His great compassion and willingness to die for you! Thank Him for the privilege to serve Him and to follow Him daily. Invite Him to show you your harvest field and the people in your life who are “harassed and helpless without Jesus, our Good Shepherd”. Commit to taking one step today to show compassion to these people in your life.
Day 2 READ: Acts 11:19-26. How did the early church live out Jesus’ prayer and vision for His church? What were some of the elements of living out? How does Shoreline Church help foster the same sense of equipping and sending? How are you engaged in equipping those who call Shoreline Church home?
Day 2 PRAY: Thank Jesus for the honor to be part of a church that openly embraces people who come in and through the Monterey area for a season. Ask Him for wisdom for our leaders to continue to find ways to help inspire, equip, and send out followers of Jesus all around the world. Invite Him to show you how you could help equip others to better prepare them for sharing Jesus and show His love.
Day 3 READ: Acts 13. What strikes you about this chapter concerning the commitment of Paul and Barnabas to share the gospel and reach the lost? As they shared their faith, did the opposition subside or increase? Why? What was the outcome of their faithfulness to be sent and to share?
Day 3 PRAY: Find some time to be alone with God today. Ask Him to show you people in your life who are oppositional to you sharing your faith. Ask God to show you one or two ways you can be invitational and conversational to these people in the coming week. Commit to being obedient to the Holy Spirit’s leading in this.
Day 4 READ: Acts 28. This is the final part of the Apostle Paul’s life recorded in the Book of Acts. What strikes you about this chapter? What inspires you about the last verse? How might that be lived out in your life today?
Day 4 PRAY: Thank Jesus for the gift of the good news and the privilege to share it with people wherever He sends you. Invite Him to give you the boldness and courage to share your faith with someone this month. Commit to writing that person’s name down and praying for them as you prepare to share.
Day 5 READ: Acts 1:8, 1 Peter 3:15, and Isaiah 6:8. What words come to you as you reflect on these verses? What does the word witness mean in the context of Acts 1:8? What do you think being prepared means in 1 Peter 3:15? What do you think holds most people back from sharing their faith today? What might hold you back from sharing your faith more boldly and courageously?
Day 5 PRAY: Pause and thank Jesus for the person who shared the gospel with you. Thank Jesus for their courage and love for sharing good news with you. Ask God to help you be more intentional in praying for non-believers in your life, and to be more willing to share the story of Jesus with others as God opens doors.

Memorize and Reflect

1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
