Sermon Series: Sovereign Week 2
Sermon Title: Experience the Ruler of the Spiritual World delivered on October 12, 2025
Day 1 READ: Jonah 1-2. In chapter 1 of Jonah, what do you learn about how Jonah understood God’s power and work in the world? In chapter 2 of Jonah, what do you learn about prayer?
Day 1 PRAY: Take time to thank God for being ruler over he heavens, the earth, and the spiritual world.
Day 2 READ: Jonah 3-4. Why is our repentance an essential part of receiving forgiveness from God? How is God more gracious and merciful that we are and why is it important for us to know that God loves the lost in the world?
Day 2 PRAY: Pray for friends and family members who are far from Jesus and ask God to help them find freedom from spiritual attacks and strongholds in their lives.
Day 3 READ: Ephesians 6:10-19. What is the true source of the spiritual battles Christians face? What armor does God give to protect us from the attacks of the enemy of our souls?
Day 3 PRAY: Pray for each of the pieces of spiritual armor that God gives to be on you as you walk through this week.
Day 4 READ: Psalm 91. What are some of the battles we face in this life, according to Psalm 91? How do we stand and fight back against these different attacks?
Day 4 PRAY: Ask God to be your refuge and protector and invite the Holy Spirit to fortify you any time you face a spiritual battle.
Day 5 READ: Romans 8. What does Jesus help us overcome and conquer when we walk closely with Him? How have you experienced the love and presence of Jesus watching over you, even when you were under spiritual attack?
Day 5 PRAY: Pray for eyes to see when the enemy of your soul is attacking you or someone you love. Then, pray in the name of Jesus, for power to resist the enemy and walk in the victory of the resurrection.

  2. Notice where you are running from God’s plan and will for your life and seek to follow Him and surrender to His amazing design for your life.
  3. Ask God to give you courage to share the message of Jesus and your stories of God’s hand alive in your life as a normal and consistent part of your daily life.
