Curated Reading for May 24 – 30

Sermon Series: Real War Week 6
Sermon Title: The Battle for Your Time delivered on May 24, 2026
Day 1 READ: Matthew 6
Where do you see yourself when it comes to worry? Do you worry once in a while, a lot of the time, all the time? How has it affected your day, week, and longer?
Day 1 PRAY: Ask the Lord to show you ways to release the worry and ask him for Scriptures to memorize and internalize. Each morning upon rising, invited him in to your day to walk with you.
Day 2 READ: Ephesians 5:15-16
Do you feel you understand the urgency of the moment, in terms of being vigilant regarding the evil one’s desire to steal your time?
Day 2 PRAY: Ask the Lord to guard and protect you, your time, and the actions of the day. Listen to his guidance as he directs your plans and actions in your tasks and relationships.
Day 3 READ: James 4:13-15
Do you catch yourself “boasting about tomorrow” in the context of this passage? Staying in the moment often challenges the scripts we write out for our lives in the future.
Day 3 PRAY: Go to God, ask him to be direct with you about how you see today and tomorrow. Accept what he shows you and ask how you can release the urge to control and create your days (planning is fine), and so fall into boasting.
Day 4 READ: Hebrews 4:1-13.
Our sabbath rest relies on trusting Christ to complete his good work in us. Do you trust him above all and release your grip on self-trust?
Day 4 PRAY: Repeat: “Dear Lord, please have your way in me. Help me release self-reliance, where I should trust in you. Give me strength hour by hour, day by day.”
Day 5 READ: Colossians 2
It is our hearts Jesus wants. Do you feel you’ve been given the freedom expressed in this chapter? Over the Sabbath, over so-called religious rules set by humans?
Day 5 PRAY: Ask the Holy Spirit to set you free if you are bound by rules apart from God’s rule. Respect rules by governing leaders, but ask Jesus to guide you to follow the heart of his teaching.

Memorize and Reflect

Romans 14:5

“One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
