Curated Reading for June 28 – July 4
Sermon Series: Real Stories Week 1Sermon Title: Grace, Patience, and Promises delivered on June 28, 2026
Day 1 READ: Genesis 6:5-7
How bad had things become in the days of Noah, and how did God feel about this? As you look at the world today, how is it becoming like the days of Noah, and how do you think God feels about the present condition of things?
Day 1 PRAY: Reflect on your own life and identify where sinful thoughts, attitudes, and actions are slipping into your daily life. Confess this to God and ask for His forgiveness.
Day 2 READ: Romans 1:18-32 How do you see the human condition spiraling downward over and over in this passage? How does this speak to our world today?
Day 2 PRAY: In the final verse of this passage, we see that the lowest point in this steady slide into sin was when the people approved of all sorts of sinful actions. Think about your life and where you have become silent about sin in yourself or others. How can you actively stand against sin that breaks the heart of God?
Day 3 READ: Genesis 6:9-14 How did Noah and his family stand out in their day of wickedness, and how can you seek to do the same today? How did God plan to rescue some people from judgment, and how does God do the same today?
Day 3 PRAY: What are ways you can walk more closely and faithfully with God in the coming weeks? Seek to take one or two steps into greater faithfulness.
Day 4 READ: Romans 10:8-13 What is the way God has made it possible for people to be saved and delivered from judgment according to Paul’s words in the book of Romans? Who is invited, and what is our part in this journey of salvation?
Day 4 PRAY: Make a list of people you love and care about who are not following Jesus. Pray for them each morning for the next week and ask God to draw them to the heart and grace of Jesus.
Day 5 READ: Genesis 9:8-13 What is core to God’s covenant with Noah and his generation? What promises did God make to them? What promises has God made with us through faith in Jesus?
Day 5 PRAY: Read the story of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and resurrection found in John 19-21. Pray for opportunities to share this story of love, sacrifice, victory, and grace with people in your life who do not know Jesus as their Savior.
