Day 1 READ: 2 Chronicles 31. What were some of the reforms and practices Hezekiah reinstated for the people of Judah? What spiritual truths do you see in his actions and the impact they had on the people? Are there areas of your life that need to be removed or renewed to walk more at peace with God?
Day 1 PRAY: Pause and thank God for His grace and mercy to send Jesus to pay the price for our sins. Invite Him to show you any area in your life that is not in alignment with His Word and His will for you. Ask Him to give you the strength to take steps to get rid of any sinful habits or behaviors in your life. Commit to pray daily for this next week, specifically inviting Him to do a fresh work in your heart and mind.
Day 2 READ: 2 Chronicles 32:1-23. After all the good things Hezekiah had done, what happened next? Given all that was coming against him, how did Hezekiah respond? What are three practical lessons we can learn from this chapter for our own lives?
Day 2 PRAY: Pause and thank Jesus for His protection over you and your family. Invite Him to move in power in any situation that you feel is under siege from the enemy. Commit to pray for those areas in your life and in the lives of those you love.
Day 3 READ: John 14. As you read these passages, what are some of the themes that Jesus was communicating to His disciples? What are the different ways we can experience the peace of Jesus found in this chapter? How does this give you encouragement in your life?
Day 3 PRAY: Thank Jesus for His teaching and the peace He alone offers, the power of the Holy Spirit’s presence with us, and in the promises that Jesus faithfully fulfills for us. Invite Him to give you [peace in any area of your life you are struggling, facing conflict, or feeling overwhelmed. Commit to memory John 14:27.
Day 4 READ: Philippians 4. Although the Apostle Paul’s main theme in this letter is joy, he also encourages believers to pursue peace internally and relationally. How might Philippians 4:6-7 help us in any situation we face in life? How could it help you today?
Day 4 PRAY: Thank the Holy Spirit for His peaceful presence and faithful companionship with you. Thank Him for His convicting truth and the strength He provides. Invite Him to give you peace today as you drive to work, enter meetings, or engage with others who might be a bit contentious. Write down how you experienced His peace this day, and do the same tomorrow and the rest of the week.
Day 5 READ: 1 Corinthians 1:3; 2 Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:3; Ephesians 1:2; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 John 1:3; and Revelation 1:4. What do they all have in common? Paul, Peter, and John all echo the greeting of Jesus found in Revelation 1:4. Why do you think the Apostles used this phrase in most of their letters at the beginning of the letter? How do they complement one another? Where do you need to experience the grace and peace of Jesus today?
Day 5 PRAY: Pause and thank Jesus for His grace and the peace with God, peace within, and peace with others that He offers. Ask Him to remind you of His great love for you and for the peace of walking rightly with Him. Invite Him to show you any area in your life where you need forgiveness or need to extend forgiveness.
