Day 1 READ: 2 Kings 6: 8-23.
What did Elisha’s servant see when he looked with his eyes? What did Elisha see and pray for? What lesson does this teach you as you think about a war that is ongoing and the battles raging in your life? How does this passage encourage you?
Day 1 PRAY: Pause and thank God for His unwavering protection and unconditional love for you. Ask Him to show you with greater clarity the realities of spiritual warfare. Thank Him for His victory in Jesus and commit to praying daily for protection, discernment, diligence, and discipline in your spiritual walk.
Day 2 READ: Isaiah 14:11-14 and Job 1:6-12 & Job 2:1-10. What do these verses say about Satan’s origins and His objectives for humanity? What do these verses say about God’s sovereignty and Satan’s persistence?
Day 2 PRAY: Pause and thank God for His gift of Jesus and the glory and power of His resurrection, where He overcame death, sin, and the enemy. Write down one area of your life where you are sensing a spiritual battle. Ask God to give you strength today to wage war on His behalf against Satan and His schemes in this particular area of your life.
Day 3 READ: Psalm 139. As you read this passage, make a list of God’s qualities and His care and concern for you. How does this encourage you when you consider the sovereignty of God and His intimate concern and love for you?
Day 3 PRAY: Thank Jesus for His concern for you and for His sacrifice on the cross. Invite Jesus to show you any areas in your life that might be vulnerabilities for the enemy and his attacks. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what steps you need to take to reinforce those areas and draw nearer to God.
Day 4 READ: Revelation 12. What do these passages of scripture tell you about walking with God and trusting Him in the spiritual battles you are facing in your life? What does this passage of scripture tell us about Jesus’ victory and our part in sharing His story and our testimonies of His faithfulness?
Day 4 PRAY: Thank God for His sovereign control of the universe and your life. Thank Him that He is with us by His Spirit and has a plan and purpose for every person who trusts in Him. Thank Him for His promise to vanquish the enemy and bring justice to our world. Write down an area in your life where your hope is waning and ask God to show you His power and work on your behalf in that area.
Day 5 READ: Ephesians 6:10-20. What do you think the Apostle Paul was facing as he wrote these words inspired by the Holy Spirit? What is he describing in this call to action? How are you standing strong and suiting up every day? Who could you share what God taught you today from His Word with?
Day 5 PRAY: Pause and thank Jesus for His presence with you and for you in the spiritual battles. Ask Him to give you strength to wield the weapons of spiritual warfare and the discipline to train daily. Invite Him to show you one person you can encourage this week.
