Mickey Dawson

Born and raised in North Carolina, married to Mary E. Dawson, we have one daughter Chameca Harris.  Prior to retiring from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation after 28 years; I had the privilege of serving 8 years in the U.S. Army.

My wife and I call Shoreline our Church home and remain actively engaged.  I serve on Shoreline’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), the Community Outreach Advisory Team and the Leadership Team.  I also attend the men’s small group Bible Study on Wednesday mornings.

In 2006, my wife and I started Encouraging Life Long Assistance a non-profit that supports low-income senior citizens in California, North Carolina, and Texas.  In addition to assisting seniors with their needs, I also support/volunteer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County.

Formerly, I was the volunteer director in charge of the Self Help and Resource Exchange (SHARE) Program at a local Salinas Church, which helped low-income community members by providing meal boxes once per month.  I also supported Youth Ministry by chaperoning youth camping trips.

Psalm 100: 1-2 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing.
