In this message, we will examine the friendship between Moses and Jethro, two men brought together by God’s divine providence and protection. We will see the blessing of having a “father figure” in our lives and the benefits of having a friend who has a lifetime of experience to share life with. We will also see the importance of friends and family members in our lives who love us enough to willingly speak the truth to help protect us and keep us from pursuing the wrong priorities or unhealthy practices. As we discover lessons from the life of Moses and Jethro, we are reminded of Jesus, who, as our high priest in heaven, is interceding on our behalf and the Holy Spirit’s role as our helper and counselor.
God's design and desire for each person is to be in relationship with Him and with others. This series will look at some the closest friendships within God's Word and what made those relationships so remarkable. As we glean lessons from God's Word and these real people, we will be more attuned and aware of the importance and essentials of God-honoring friendships and relationships.
