Expressions of hope and joy were loudly pronounced at Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the day we now call Palm Sunday. Yet to many of these followers it seemed all hope was lost when He was arrested. So what happened? Jesus didn’t fulfill their expectations. What they didn’t understand is that Jesus didn’t come to bring temporary happiness. He came to bring salvation and a permanent hope and joy from the inside out. He came so we could have a relationship with God, even a friendship with God that secures our place in heaven with Him forever. In this message we will learn how we can have a lasting hope and overflowing joy that isn’t based on our expectations or altered by difficult circumstances.
