Nicodemus came to Jesus as a highly religious, educated, powerful, and influential man. But he was curious and hungry. He came full of answers but still had questions. He came as one who represented God but did not know the One he claimed to represent. When he encountered Jesus, he met the Messiah and was transformed. All those who have been around Church, who have religious history, and who claim to be “religious” but have not personally encountered Jesus need to learn that Christianity is about a relationship and surrender to the Light of the World.
All through the Bible we see God encountering people and turning their lives upside-down! After meeting Jesus, the blind could see, the deaf could hear, the dead were raised, the possessed were set free, the lost were found, teachers became students, the self-centered became servants, and much more. In this series we will look at how encounters with Jesus changed people 2,000 years ago and every day since!
