Dress a Girl partners with Elizabeth’s Library International https://www.elizabethslibrary.org/ to sew and provide beautiful dresses for girls in developing countries and teddy bears for girls locally through Love Our Central Coast and Operation Christmas Child. Volunteers are mostly self-sufficient and take donations of fabric and cash to purchase supplies. Volunteers cut their own dresses, surge and press them and send them to Santa Cruz Dress A Girl to be made into kits. The kits are then returned to Shoreline volunteers, are sewn and distributed to girls in need. Even with current restrictions, volunteers are keeping busy, sewing dresses from home. In early August 2020, 310 dresses were sent to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi for girls in need. For more information, or you are traveling to a developing country and would like to hand-deliver dresses to organizations in need, please email email@example.com.
