Memorize and Reflect

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Prayer Direction

Pray for God to help you be amazed, again, by the greatness of His grace. Ask for an awareness of the freedom and healing you have through Jesus’ sacrifice. Pray for people you love who still don’t know how much God loves them and the price He paid to offer them salvation.

“Live It!” Challenge

Practice Sharing Your Story: Take time this week to practice telling the story of how you came to faith in Jesus. Say it out loud. Tell another Christian, or even a friend who is not yet a follower of Jesus, about how you heard the Good News of Jesus, confessed your sin, received Jesus, and started a whole new life!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about a person who had a significant influence on you becoming a follower of Jesus. What did they do, say, teach, or share with you that helped you meet Jesus and walk toward the Savior?

  2. Who is a person God has placed in your life that is not yet a follower of Jesus and how are you seeking to love them, serve them, and share Jesus with this person so that they might see Jesus and one day enter a relationship with Him?

  3. Read: Genesis 3:8-9 and Luke 13:3-7
How does sin break the relationship between God and His people? How does sin break the relationship between us and the people in our lives? (Use specific examples without using names)

  4. How do the three stories Jesus tells in Luke 15 paint a picture of how faith in Jesus can restore our relationship with God?

  5. Read: Revelation 21:1-4 and John 10:7-10
How does sin bring death in some of the following areas:
    · Physically
    · Spiritually
    · Relationally
    · Socially
    · Some other area of life…

  6. How does the resurrection of Jesus and His forgiving power released through His sacrifice on the cross bring life in the following areas:
    · Physically
    · Spiritually
    · Relationally
    · Socially
    · Some other area of life…

  7. Read: Ephesians 2:4-9
How does our faith change if we believe we must do enough good things to be loved by God instead of knowing that our salvation is a free gift of God’s grace?

  8. How does assurance that we are saved by God’s grace and not our works impact…
    · The way we share the message of Jesus with others?
    · How we feel about ourselves when we mess up and stumble into sin?
    · How we treat others when they mess up?
    · How we worship during hard times in life?

  9. Tell about a person who had a significant influence on you becoming a follower of Jesus. What did they do, say, teach, or share with you that helped you meet Jesus and walk toward the Savior?
